Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith, today met with Samantha Cosgrove, Manager of YMCA Penrith to announce their successful application for funding through the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program.
“I am pleased to announce that the YMCA will receive a grant of $20,000 under the 2013 Community Building Partnership Program,” said Stuart Ayres.
Ms Cosgrove said the YMCA is delighted to receive the funds and know that families from the Penrith community will benefit from a new space for young people to be active.
“The $20,000 grant along with assistance from the YMCA will be used to construct a much anticipated indoor soft-fall play area,” said Ms Cosgrove.
The YMCA Penrith features a wide range of youth and family programs in the areas of health and fitness, gymnastics, recreation and children’s services.
Stuart Ayres said the Community Building Partnerships are a terrific program that provides the opportunity for local community groups such as youth, sporting, hobby groups and Council’s to build, refurbish or maintain much needed infrastructure that will benefit the local community.
“It was my privilege to have recommend YMCA Penrith for this funding and I look forward to seeing the benefits for our community,” added Stuart Ayres.
