Member for Penrith Stuart Ayres MP, today joined Mr Mark Davies, Mayor of Penrith in opening the new bridge at Surveyor’s Creek on Mulgoa Road, Penrith.
The bridge is part of the shared-use path which now connects Mulgoa Road from Glenmore Park and Regentville with the centre of Penrith.
“With the improved bike ways and footpaths in the Penrith area, it is now easier than ever before to leave the car at home and use cycling and walking as mainstream means of transport.” Mr Ayres said.
“Over the past three financial years over $5.99 million of NSW Government funding has been provided on developing and providing shared paths in partnership with Penrith Council” said Mr Ayres
The funding is part of the government’s commitment to the River Cities Program. The 10 year $78 million program includes a bike network for Parramatta, Liverpool and Penrith.
