NSW Opposition Leader and Shadow Minister for Western Sydney Barry O’Farrell today announced he’s accepted an invitation from the NSW Business Chamber and its Penrith affiliates for a joint address with Kristina Keneally.
The NSW Business Chamber, Penrith Valley Chamber of Commerce and Penrith Business Alliance have invited both leaders to take part in a joint function to address local issues.
“I am more than happy to accept this invitation and again meet with members of the Penrith business community about the opportunities to grow and strengthen the region,” Mr O’Farrell said.
“I hope Ms Keneally agrees to the invitation, but consider it unlikely given she refused to accept my challenge of more debates following the One Year To Go debate.
“The address will give me a chance to directly outline the NSW Liberals & Nationals Jobs Action Plan to target 100,000 new jobs.
The Jobs Action Plan will work by:
- Providing a payroll tax rebate of $4,000 per full time employee for the first 100,000 new eligible jobs created in NSW; and
- Paying the rebate in two equal parts, on the first and second anniversary of the hire of a new full time employee. This will encourage long-term, sustainable jobs.
“Restoring the Western Sydney economy is central to driving jobs and investment across the State.
“Our plans for Infrastructure NSW would ensure projects, like the M4 East extension, the Erskine Link Road and M4 on/off ramps at Mulgoa Road, The Northern Road and Russell Street, are prioritised based on need.
“Infrastructure NSW, oversighted by an independent board, would also make sure major upgrades are delivered on time and on budget.
“The NSW Liberals & Nationals are determined to deliver the change required to Make NSW Number 1 Again,” Mr O’Farrell said.
