Candidate for Londonderry, Bernard Bratusa, and Minister for Sport and Recreation Stuart Ayres have today announced $50,000 in NSW Government funding for sporting facilities in the Londonderry electorate. Successful projects include the installation of flood lights at Paterson Oval and Myrtle Road Fields. Both projects have received $25,000 following applications for funding by Penrith City Council.Mr Bratusa has welcomed the grants, saying they will boost participation in sporting activities in the area. “The installation of floodlights at both of these venues will enable local teams to play in the evenings, which will stretch out available playing time. “This is important for participation in sport across the Penrith and Londonderry area, and will assist locals in staying fit and healthy.” Minister Ayres said that supporting local facilities remains a priority for the NSW Government. “Sport is a huge part of our way of life and the NSW Government recognises that, which is why we are here today presenting this grant.” “We look forward to seeing the benefits for Cambridge Park and Claremont Meadows as well as the surrounding communities,” Minister Ayres added.
