Liberal Candidate Ready to Work for the People of Penrith

Liberal candidate for the seat of Penrith, Stuart Ayres, says he is ready to work for the people and contest the by-election.

“I know there is a lot of work ahead, but I am keen to earn the trust and respect of the community, and work as their local representative, taking on the issues which matter to them,” said Mr Ayres.

“Through my time going to school in Penrith and my involvement in local sporting groups, I’ve developed a strong bond with this area and understand that it’s a special community which deserves a local member who represent their interests.”

Mr Ayres was a student at St Dominic’s in Kingswood and McCarthy Catholic College in Emu Plains. His family has been a strong part of the Penrith community.

His passion for sport led him to study a business degree with a sports focus. He is now the Marketing and Business Development Manager with the Australian College of Physical Education.

He is a former board member of the Penrith Rams Football Club and is aiming to play his 200th game this season. Through his role with the College he has been connected to a range of sporting organisations across the electorate, including Penrith Panthers. Stuart also played cricket in the Nepean District Cricket Association.

Mr Ayres said, “I have put myself forward to represent the community because I care about this area and want to deliver the services which the people deserve.”

“We need to improve our roads, public transport and health services, including Nepean Hospital. Already I have been campaigning on the Victoria Bridge issue.”

“It is unfortunate for the people of Penrith that they have been so let down by the Labor Member. I am passionate about Penrith and for too long this community has been neglected by the Labor Members who have been more interested in their political futures than the local people.”

“However this by-election now provides an opportunity to have a fresh start in Penrith.”

“I will now be out campaigning hard, asking people what I can do for them, and what their priorities are for the community.”

“I will do all I can to be part of the Barry O’Farrell team to Make NSW Number One Again,” said Mr Ayres.
