Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith today hosted a celebratory event for 40 local women at Skipton’s Café, Penrith to recognise International Women’s Day 2016.
International Women’s Day allows the whole community to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of all women.
This year’s theme, “Pledging for Parity” calls on men and women to take the pledge to accelerate gender parity, ensuring women and girls can achieve their ambitions.
“International Women’s Day provides a wonderful opportunity for all members of our community to say thank you to women from all walks of life for making Penrith a great place to live, work and play,” said Stuart Ayres
“It was my pleasure to join these terrific women and recognise the achievements and valuable contributions that all women make,” Stuart Ayres added.
