Gold Opal Card – Helpful Application Forms for Customers

The NSW Government recently announced that the next step in delivering world class ‘tap and go’ electronic ticketing will arrive next year, with the majority of old-style paper tickets to be phased out on January 1, 2016.

Stuart Ayres said “The Pensioner Excursion Ticket is one of the tickets that will no longer be sold, so it’s really important that seniors and pensioners get their Gold Opal card before January.”

A new initiative is the distribution of a brochure/form that seniors and pensioners can use to request assistance in their Gold Opal card application.  The form is easy to fill out and folds into a reply paid envelope.

“I encourage seniors and pensioners  who need assistance and don’t have their Gold Card as yet to pop by my office to collect a form or call on 02 4722 8660 and we can mail a form out,” said Stuart Ayres

Since November 2014 over 500,000 Gold cards have been issued and 22.7 million journeys have been undertaken.

The Opal Kiosk is back at Penrith station this week to assist customers in applying for a card:

  • Thursday 12 November 3.30pm to 6.30pm
  • Sunday 15 November 9am to 12noon

“I urge everyone in the Penrith area who doesn’t have an Opal card yet to apply now,” added Stuart Ayres.
