The Member for Penrith Stuart Ayres MP today expressed his amazement at NSW Labor voting against a motion in the Parliament today that supported Westconnex.
\”Voting against the first and only plan to finish the M4 and duplicate the M5 tunnel almost defies belief\” said Mr Ayres.
\”The O’Farrell Government was elected to get the state moving again. That is why we engaged the infrastructure experts at Infrastructure NSW to develop a genuine and deliverable plan for the M4 and M5. Their recommended solution is Westconnex.\”
\”Labor was in power for 16 years and no plan, idea or road was ever delivered to improve the M4. It’s time to stop chasing pie in the sky options for the M4 that will never be built.\” said Mr Ayres.
\”The people of Penrith and Western Sydney are demanding we get on with planning and delivering Westconnex.\”
This vote shows that NSW Labor still takes Western Sydney for granted.
