As a commuter to the city during the sitting weeks of parliament, I understand the high demand for parking at railway stateions in the Penrith electorate.
Constructipon is underway for the multi-deck commuter carpark to the north of Penrith station. This is a jointly funded project receiving contributions from both the state and federal governments, with construction works under the co-ordination of Penrith City Council. When finished, the new carpark will hold up to 1000 extra cars.
Kingswood Station is also undergoing imrovements to the parking facilities with improved vehicular access to parking spaces on the Great Western Highway and improved lighting and surveillance of commuter parking spaces on the northern side of the station. It is anticipated that these and other upgrade works at Kingswood will be completed by early next year.
I’ll continue to work to improve our rail and connecting infrastructuire across the Penrith electorate and I look forward to advocating within the O’Farrell Government to ensure public transport is a more attractive alternative into the future.
