Ayres and Goward open new NYAS support centre in Penrith

Liberal Member for Penrith Stuart Ayres joined with Family and Community Services Minister Pru Goward today to officially open the Nepean Youth Accomodation Service’s new support centre at Henry Street in Penrith.
\”This new support centre creates a unique ‘one-stop shop’ for young people in our region who arehomeless, at risk of homelessness, or at risk of entering into the child protection system and the opening of this facility serves asa tribute to the commitment and dedication of the centre’s general manager and the team who support him.\” Mr Ayres said today.
\”With our region experiencing the challenges of a rising cost of living, many youngfamilies and individuals are doing it tough and finding itdifficult to keep a roof over their heads.The role of the NYAS support centre is to put these youth in touch with available support services to ensure they have the security they need to pursue a more prosperous life.\”
NYAS General Manager Joe Magri welcomed the Minister’s visit and thanked Mr Ayres for bringing her to Penrith.
\”NYAS has grown quite significantly over the past few years and now provides support to over 100 young people in the Penrith region.\” Mr Magri said.
\”We appreciate the Minister’s visit to this facility and thank her for taking the time out of her schedule to discuss the priorities of the NSW Government in delivering support services to Western Sydney.
\”The interest our facility is receiving from the new government is a breath of fresh air and an exciting opportunity to really make a difference for the young people and young families in our region.\”
